We have been approached by various individuals about Afrikaans tuition, which is something very close to the director Heidi’s heart. Some of our prospective clients hold responsible positions which makes it impossible for them to fit into the normal language school timetable.
Therefore, we have devised a weekend solution which can be repeated as many times as necessary – until you have reached the level of Afrikaans that enables you to continue studying and improving on your own. Hopefield is surrounded by more than one Afrikaans-speaking region, and although everyone knows English and would be happy to assist you in it, almost everyone is more comfortable speaking Afrikaans. The ideal place to practise your new-found skills!
Both days of the weekend consist of four hours classroom teaching and practice (with our own materials), with activities in the afternoon. These range from visiting the local watering hole to kayaking in a breathtaking West Coast bay.
An Afrikaans Weekend typically costs R2500 per person, including 12 hours study, activities, and accommodation with breakfast in the charming Commercial Hotel adjoining the school. Other packages – during school holidays and for groups – are perfectly possible, so please feel free to contact us with your requirements.
